With the Nike Air Pressure, Nike aimed to create a custom fit support with the use of air in the chambers inside the ankle support. These shoes marked quite a turning point for Nike. An inflatable hand pump device was used to pump air, the more air you pumped, the tighter the fit! The shoe also featured a valve on the back to release air pressure hence the name from the shoe. Unfortunately, Nike Air Pressure were only produced for one year.
