Ballers on concrete were calling it the “best playground shoe ever”. The Nike Legend was the first to have colored soles and colored lining, first to have a perforated toe box, and first to feature a flexpoint on the lacing system at the ankle break of the shoe. It featured a hook on the ankle of the shoe, and for no apparent reason. The Georgetown basketball team wore the Nike Legend on the court, and coach John Thompson knew and thought that this shoe gave his teams an identity.
