The price tag scared people off! It was the first time a pair of Air Jordans had reached the $200 mark. Some exclaimed “It’s just a gym shoe.” NO…NO it’s not! They are Jordans! Get it! Got it!?! Good! For anyone who’s ever spent a big wad of cash on a pair of gators, Italian leathers, or Gucci shoes to say that it was just a shoe….SHUT UP! If you’re not a baller, they you wouldn’t understand. If you’re not a Jordan fiend, then you wouldn’t UNDERSTAND! The Air Jordan XVII featured a peel-off plastic on the heel to keep em’ fresh until you decided to rock them. It came in a chrome case. They also featured a clip on plate to shield the lacing system and were released in colors to match the Washington Wizards jersey. It was a new beginning for his Airness.
