He’s the greatest to ever sport a basketball jersey! The baddest man the game has ever seen! And he had the ability to turn a shoe company into a marketing one.The Air Jordan I was released and everyone wondered, “Is it the Shoes?” Was it the shoes that dropped 63 on the Celtics, or won him numerous dunk contests, or got him rookie of the year honors. Even the Association tried to halt the takeover of the Air Jordan 1, banning it from the game because, in his words [Jordan], “they didn’t have any white in them”. They even fined him every time he would lace them up, but he made it all worth it. Once labeled “the dopest shoe on the planet” by Slam magazine, the red and black power movement initiated an institution of change. It went from the original two colors to three (they later added the white), then from three to a wide range of colorways. It featured the basketballed wing logo on the side, and he brought the matching game onto the hardwood. His Airness, Mike, and Air Jordan, were all just a few of his nicknames.
