The Nike Air 1/2 Half Cent created a big buzz this year, from the initial Varsity Royal / Black colorway to the recently released silver and black editions. Nike plans to continue the talk surrounding the hybrid silhouette with the release of the pair shown here. They sport a predominantly black design along with spark green accents including the translucent outsole, as well as minimal accents on the Nike swoosh. Look for them to be a big hit among fanatics upon their release. As of now, they are slated to officially hit Footaction accounts on Dec 12, 2009.

Air Penny II | Black/Copper

I have no idea how Sole Collector does it, but they always seem to get their hands on some very ill  colorways of the Air Penny II. We gave you a look at their 5 year anniversary edition Air Penny IIs back in June, and now we present these funky fresh copper joints.  As of now there is no official word on a release but we can get a gander at the nice pictures in the meantime.

This time around, the Air Penny II sports an all Black foam/leather/nubuck upper with some Metallic Copper accents. Some penny purists may be mad at all of these colorways that have popped up on this classic shoe, but I think that very few will front on these, or maybe not. What do you all think?

How can you not be a fan of the Air 1/2 Cent? If anything you gotta admit the design is ill even if its not for you. In an attempt to make it virtually irresistable the shoe has taken on this toxic colorway. The black and green spark version looks awesome and the metallic silver accents just ice the cake. Penny fans are sure to go into a tizzy when they see these guys. The Air Penny II LE’s in triple black are tantalizing enough without any extras so when you guys find out that the upper hosts 3M piping well thats like icing on the cake huh? We’ve previewed the Nike Air Penny 2 (II) Atlantic Blue Quickstrikes a few times, and wanted to let you guys know that the wait is finally over! These mid-90’s classics have returned to select retailers, specifically quickstrike accounts. They sport a white upper along with atlantic blue and silver accents. Highlighting the shoes are a translucent blue outsole, a feature fanatics are definitely happy about. Look for them now at select accounts as they retail for $145.

The Nike Air 1/2 Cent Black/Metallic Silver has officially hit Footactions nationwide. The original Nike Air 1/2 Half Cent Penny - Varsity Royal colorway was probably one of the top sneakers of 2009. Here is a detailed look at the Black/Metallic Silver colorway which continues the Air 1/2 Penny legacy.

This particular pair sports a completely black design along with silver accents on the shoe laces and Nike swoosh. The instant classic combines features from previously released Air Penny’s and the beloved Air Foamposite model. The 1/2 Cent name takes its inspiration from Lil Penny’s jersey number. Paying a little tribute to the little man, the shoe features his silhouette on the heel and a 3D hologram on the sole.

The Nike Panny 1/2 Cent was the talk of the town during its original release in a royal blue / black colorway. Since then, we’ve previewed several other colorways, including the black / metallic silver version shown here. They sport a simple black on black upper along with metallic silver contrasts. They are not scheduled to release until next month, but you can pre-order a pair on eBay now for $240.

The Nike Air Penny 2 (II) made a come back in 2008, and we’re pretty sure fanatics would love to see the trend continue. Here we preview a new colorway, which sports a predominantly black color scheme with a pinch of white seen on the upper. There is no word as to whether they will release but Air Penny aficionados definitely wouldn’t mind. We will keep you guys updated as more is learned.

Last week we posted some sneak pics of the Black/Neon green Air Penny IIs that had been posted on Sole Collector, but very little info was available about the shoes origins at the time. Today, the story behind these are revealed. Sole Collector’s Nick DePaula explains these fresh 1 cents:

Having the signature series legend Penny Hardaway on the cover of what included an all-too-enjoyable interview to partake in was quite the honor, and we’d like to extend a special thanks to the Nike Sportswear division for creating this commemorative 5th Anniversary Sole Collector edition of the Air Penny II. The shoe’s colorway of Black/Anthracite/Volt ties back to our Forum’s original colors during that timespan, and we couldn’t be more happy with how these ended up – swatch logo along the heel and all. This Air Penny II was made just for the Sole Collector team and won’t be coming to retail.
