Reebok Dual Pumper - Valentine’s Day

It is not clear upon first glance why this version of the Reebok Dual Pumper is meant for Valentine’s Day. Maybe the red splattered paint across the grey colorway is meant to represent heartache? What do you think? Some speculate the red is meant to be splattered blood which symbolizes a more dismal and bloody part of the history of Valentine’s Day. The Saint Valentine’s Day Massacre is the name given to the death of seven people as part of a Prohibition conflict between two powerful criminal gangs in Chicago, Illinois in the winter of 1929 February 14th.

Either way, Reebok has decided to bring back the Dual Pump Runner which originally released in 1993. These shoes feature not one pump system, but two; one on each side of the shoe for maximum comfort and support. This model is also available in an all red colorway for the heart-filled holiday. Reebok Sir Jam - Black / Gold

Back in the early 90s, the Reebok Sir Jam was the hottest thing under the sun in terms of basketball shoes by the Reebok line. The Sir Jam was missing one very important thing though; pump technology! It says a lot for this model however, if it still was highly sought after even without pump technology which was all the rage. The Reebok Sir Jam Black/Gold is revived and shines in a black leather coated colorway with corresponding gold accents on the logo and ankle area. The upper rests atop a white mid-sole and includes Hexalite technology, a staple in Reebok sneakers for the past 20 years or more. Via NK.

Reebok Insta Pump Fury EXT LUX

Available now at Atmos is this pair of Reebok Insta Pump Fury EXT LUX. They feature a predominantly black construction along with a snakeskin treatment across the upper. They are subtle but nevertheless are still really nice to look at, and would make a great edition to any shoe collection. In case you didn’t know, here’s the story behind the shoe:

The Insta Pump Fury was at the cutting edge of design. It was the center of attention in Reebok’s Pump line during its original release. It was the first to fully utilize the Pump technology: the lacing system was no longer a necessity, as the inflated tongue or front panel held the foot in place both comfortably and securely. It was an instant success overseas in Japan, and as it soon made its way to Europe, collectors over there were fascinated by its design.
