One of the most popular sneaker in the A Bathing Ape line-up, the SKULL STA, gets an update for Fall 2011. Seen here in a preview, the model features a mixture of Melton wool, leather, and synthetics over the familiar upper. Black and olive take on the primary colorway duties, with beige being restricted to the laces. Final details include the Star logo in black leather on the side panel and an olive outsole. Recently released to Bape accounts is this version of the popular Bape Sta model. The shoe is constructed from suede, and features the brand’s signature camouflage on the star logo as well as the rear of the shoe. The predominantly black design is contrasted with grey and white details. Finishing off the look is a white midsole, which sits atop a dark grey outsole. Find these now at BAPE stores worldwide where they retail for ¥17,640 JPY (approximately $229 USD).

Seen here are the latest additions to A Bathing Ape’s BAPE STA line, which as you know borrows the design from the classic Nike Air Force 1 Low. All three versions are constructed from premium leather, and utilize black on the tongues, quarter panels, and midsoles. In an unusual collaboration, Japan-based A Bathing Ape has come together with Airwalk to create this special version of the brand’s desert boot styled Everest Boot. The shoe features a beige colorway, and is wrapped in suede. The collar features a unique graphic, while the other side of the shoe sports the Airwalk logo, as well as A Bathing Ape’s logo. Look for these to drop exclusively at Bape stores sometime this month.

2011 has seen a resurgence of non-traditional materials over historic silhouettes, making this introduction of the tweed BAPE STA for Fall/Winter 2011 a welcomed addition. At the beginning of the month we gave you guys a preview of the Sperry Top-Sider x A Bathing Ape collection, and today we are learning about the availability of one of the shoes included. The Seamate boat shoe is seen here sporting a canvas construction that is engulfed in camouflage. Finishing off the look is a black vulcanized sole. Bape drops off this clean saddle shoe inspired silhouette that features Black and Grey soft leather on the upper as well as a Black outsole. The shoe features contrast colored stitching on the outsole that really stands out on the silhouette as well as the eyelets. Grey laces and a tanned leather lining really punctuates the look well and makes this one definitely something worth checking.

For their latest release Bape has teamed up with Harris Tweed to make a pretty mature pair of sneakers. The Harris Tweed x A Bathing Ape Bapecheck Ape Sta Hi reads like a Chuck Taylor yet its upper gives an air of class that only Harris Tweed can bring. We all know by now that A Bathing Ape likes to “borrow” classic design from other brands, as they’ve created some shoes that strongly resemble the Nike Air Force 1, Vans Era, adidas Superstar, and Clarks Wallabee. The latest to be hijacked is the timeless Converse Purcell, which is known as the Bad Sta.

The shoe is seen here in three colorways, black, blue, and white, each of which sports a canvas upper along with white toe and matching sole, while Bape-specific embroidery is visible on the side panels/heel. What are your thoughts on these? via HS.

BAPE x Mark McNairy & Sperry Top-Sider Preview

Mark McNairy, Sperry Top-Sider and BAPE have come together to make a few very impressive silhouettes. The team up has produced a boat shoe, chukka and a brogue with each one making some sort of use of that ape flavored camo.

The boat shoe comes off as the most conventional looking sneaker with its vulcanized outsole and casual upper. The chukka’s full camo-print upper against its heeled gum outsole is a very interesting juxtaposition while the brogue puts the print up against suede for a very unique feel. This release will be at select retailers before the year is out.
