It is hard to deny the appeal of the Air Jordan 11. The last few holiday seasons have been dominated by the silhouette, with last year’s Concords pushing things over the top. While the OG colorways of the Air Jordan 11 are nice, what would you guys think about something different like this Air Jordan 11 “Blackout”. As the name suggest, the model features a fully black upper on the mesh and patent leather, and a translucent outsole. As far as release information, there is none as this is just a sample. With Jordan Brand having Melo in New York, they have not hesitated with putting the New York Knick colorway on a variety of sneakers. The latest model to get the NY treatment is the popular Air Jordan 1 Phat. Rocking Italy blue as its main color, the model also flips things on the material side with a mix of patent leather and mesh on the upper. Vivid orange, not to be left out, sits comfortably across the laces and also sits on the outsole. Look for this Air Jordan 1 Phat to hit retail spots on February 24th.

Air Jordan 4 Cement Grey (New Photos)

Retro Air Jordan fans are in for a treat come February 18th, and the images here are the reason why. The Air Jordan 4 cement Grey hasn’t made it to the hands of enthusiasts since 1999, but that is about to change in a few days. Keeping it authentic, Jordan Brand stayed with the original box and is even going to include a hang tag like the one seen with the Air Jordan 10 “Chicago” back in January. Look for the Air Jordan 4 Cement Grey starting February 18th for $160 at select locations such as Mr. R Sports.

Air Jordan 4 ‘Fire Red’ Preview

While the most anticipated version of the Air Jordan 4 is indeed the White / Cement there is another colorway that we suspect needs to be added to that list. The sneaker will also see a Fire Red release retro that will be as close to the OG’s as ever. This sneak peak was swiped from his soon to be brother in law and it certainly shows that there are some definite perks to being Mike’s relative. Stay tuned for updates.

The Air Jordan 2012 is hitting the web like a storm and the model has even made its way to the college circuit. Seen here courtesy of everyone’s favorite sneaker aficionado, russbengston, is a special Player Exclusive made for the player of UNC. The Tar Heels model features the custom number and names on the medial ankle and the UNC logo on the midfoot lateral panel. The Jordan Spizike is one of the brands more anticipated releases and while the release of the Jordan Spizike Bordeaux was heavily on everyone’s radar there is another colorway set to release that is in need of love. The model is set to drop in this University Blue colorway that is certainly one of its more standout looks in a while. The shoe features a blend of university and italy blue patent leather, nubuck and elephant print along its upper while vivid orange hits the highlights. Look for these to drop on February 24th alongside several other sneakers including the Nike Basketball 2012 All Star Games collection.

Air Jordan 2012 Flight System on NIKEiD

For those of you with particular needs when it comes to the material and color choices of your sneakers, Jordan Brand has decided to let the Air Jordan 2012 hit the NIKEiD studio in February 14. The NIKEiD version of the Air Jordan 2012 will come with one inner sleeve and one midsole determined by the user. Pricing is set at $205. The Air Jordan 2012 just mades its official coming out of the closet appearance yesterday and a new version of the sneaker has already hit the blogs. While this is being billed as the Air Jordan 2012 Lite, Jordan Brand has unveiled the Air Jordan A, Q, and E on their site. We can’t confirm if this is a separate model or if this is one of those, but rest assured that we will let you know as soon as we find out. Air Jordan 2012 Event Recap

Yesterday, you may have noticed that Twitter and most of your favorite sneaker sites were inundated with information about the Air Jordan 2012. The cause was a special event held at the Teterboro Airport in New Jersey launching the newest addition to the Air Jordan legacy.

To start our day, I, and a bunch of other members of the media were loaded into SUVs and driven to the airport. As we arrive at the airport, everyone starts to get a little curious as to what exactly is about to happen. Fortunately for those with a fear of flying, there we no actual “flights”, but we did arrive at a converted Air Port hanger with the Jumpman logo on the door. Once inside, were were greeted by an Airline stewardess (who was very cute by the way) who officially checked us in for the event. Once seated, we watched several highlights reels of the man behind the Brand mixed in with highlights of Jordan Brands three signature athletes. While sitting there, I couldn’t help but think about the transition that this moment presented. Michael Jordan, arguably one of the greatest to ever play the game, no longer plays the game. However, the three new stars, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, and Carmelo Anthony, are all stars in their own right, and Jordan Brand is slowly shifting its focus to them.

After the video, we spent about 30 minutes with the designers of the shoe, Tom Luedecke and Tinker Hatfield. Both of the incredible designers spent about 30 minutes giving us the inspiration behind the shoes and how the process worked. Tinker took the time to explain that the shoe is influenced by the Portland Jazz scene in the 1930s, aka Jumptown. The direct influence is the famed Wingtip shoe from that ear which weighs heavily on the upper of the Air Jordan 2012. One interesting fact is that Tinker showed a few slides up on the screen, and many of them were dated back almost two years ago. As sneakerheads, we often forget how far things go back and how long it takes to bring a shoe to market.

After Tinker gave his portion of the talk, Tom Luedecke took over and starting giving us the technical info on the shoe. How the Air Jordan 2012 is the top performance shoe on the market. The integration of Flywire to keep the shoe light, and the main aspect of the shoe, the interchangeable midsoles. As Tom explained, Jordan Brand’s goal was to create a shoe that represented a premier athlete, looked great, and functioned in way that players of all sizes could play in it. The result of these goals was a three midsole system and two bootie. Labeled Fly Around, Fly Over, and Fly Through, as well as the high and low bootie, the system allows players to customize the feel of the shoe for their style of play. For those that like a low shoe with a lot of cushion, they have a legitimate option with the Air Jordan 2012. The same goes for a guy that likes a high top but has a quick game and thus like more court feel, the Air Jordan 2012 has an option.

After the session with Tom and Tinker, we were all escorted over to another area to pick up our “luggage”. The luggage in this case being the Air Jordan 2012 and some clothes to switch into so we could do some wear testing. As I like to play guard, I switched into the low bootie with the Fly Over insole. But then, the real event started as professional trainer Idan Ravin came out and officially kicked our asses. By the time we were done, all of us were dripping with sweat and ready to pass out. I now have a new level of respect for NBA players. The workout that Idan gave us was no joke. Despite the workout, I did get a good feel for the Air Jordan 2012 and can say that I walked away very impressed.

To end the day, Jordan Brand brought out about 20 different colorways of the Air Jordan 2012 as well as announced that the sneaker will be making a debut on NIKEiD on February 14. In addition to being on NIKEiD, the sneaker will have the most option ever on a NIKEiD shoe. Some members of the media were given a chance to make a pair on NIKEiD. I was busy interviewing Tinker and Tom as well as playing basketball, that I didn’t get a chance to do a pair. However, I was assured that they would let me do it from home.

As we all were loaded back up into the black SUVs and headed back home, my thoughts wandered a bit to the past and where things were going with sneakers in general. Jordan Brand is rich in history, a fact that has presented both a gift and a curse for the company. However, the brand has never stopped innovating. The modular system that launched last year with the Air Jordan 2011, was just a start. For 2012, the brand has continued the concept and taking it up a notch. The Air Jordan 2012 is the one of, if not the, most versatile performance basketball sneaker in the market. No where else will you be able to find a shoe with so many options, that is crafted with a premium mindset, and with the innovative minds of designers like Tinker and Tom.

The Air Jordan 2012 officially launched today for $223 for the Deluxe version. Those that want to hold out a little longer, you can design your own on NIKEiD on February 14, and you will be able to choose one insole and bootie. According to the Jordan Brand family, you will also be able to buy singular version of the sneaker starting in late February or early March.

With the official launch of the Air Jordan 2012, it was only a matter of time before we had the chance to see some exclusive colorways of the sneaker. Though it hasn’t been released who will be rocking them, we did get a look at the Air Jordan 2012 All-Star colorway. With one in Red and one in Blue, we can plan on Chris Paul rocking the red colorway and either Dwyane Wade or Carmelo rocking the navy blue. What are your thoughts on the Air Jordan 2012 All-Star silhouettes.

Air Jordan 2012 Officially Launched

Today in New Jersey, Jordan Brand held an event to launch the Air Jordan 2012. Billed as “One Shoe, Three Flights”, the Air Jordan 2012 takes a modular approach to design by allowing players to rock three different insoles in two different ways. Based on the game play of the three signature Jordan Brand Athletes, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Paul, you will be able to “choose your flight”, whether it be to Fly Through, Fly Over, or Fly Around.

Jordan Brand has always billed the Air Jordan line as a premium sneaker. Inclusive of this billing, the designers, in this case Tom Luedecke and Tinker Hatfield, took the approach of ”Jumptown” (Portland’s jazz center in the ’30s) and their audacious style. This design insight led to the shoe’s distinctive wingtip styled upper.

Pricing for the Air Jordan 2012 Deluxe is set at $223, and launches tomorrow, February 8 in two colorways, Wolf Grey/Black – Silver Ice – White and University Blue/White-Dark Steel Grey. Both of these pack will include 2 booties and 3 insoles.

Air Jordan 4 ‘Knicks’

While every Knicks fan in the world is fresh off of the ‘Jeremy Lin’ high what better time is there than now to show off Jordan Brand‘s new Knicks inspired silhouette? While the Jordan Spizike Knicks still quite the hot commodity it appears that things were taken a step further by giving the Air Jordan 4 an orange, blue and black flavored upper.

The shoe certainly is an eyebrow raising romp with its black suede upper and equal parts of blue and orange on the accents but it’s ultimately up to the you guys to pass final judgement on this pair. We honestly can’t see anyone disagreeing here unless they just aren’t a Knicks fan but check the gallery above and let us know what you think below.

Air Jordan 1 Dave White (New Images)

Last February, Dave White gave us a custom job on the Air Jordan 1 for charity. This time around, the unique silhouette has been given the go ahead for a full release on American shores. Fans of Dave will get two chances to snag a pair of the red/black/white sneakers, first on February 11, and then again on February 24. The pair mixes the old with the new and has both the Jumpman and Air Jordan Wings logo. Touches of elephant print highlight the toe, while some stars and stripes are littered throughout.
