The most eye - catching features of the Ultraride are the pillars that run along the heel and forefoot.  They allow for a durable and foamless midsole.  The advantage to them is that overtime, foam tends to break down, but in this case, that is not a problem.  The TPU provides less energy loss, and more durability, as well as a faster ride.
