The SL 76 was released in 1976, and was a natural progression from the SL 72.  Constructed from a breathable nylon and velour, it was released with the ’76 Montreal Games in mind.  The number of Ghillys differed depending on the country of production.   The shoe’s status rose after debuting on television o the cult cop show Starsky and Hutch and was reissued in 2004 in the colourway worn by detective Dave Starsky.
