The Marathon has an aggressive look to it. The concave trefoil outsole and Dellinger web on the midsole give the shoe a futuristic look. Adidas stated that the Marathon was ahead of its time, and it was right. Since its release in the 1980’s, the shoe had undergone some changes. All of the uppers on the earlier models were made of nylon mesh and velour, but in 1985 the design of the upper was changed slightly. The newer models had less TPU eyelets and featured “Marathon TR” on the Adidas Stripes.
