This model, designed specifically for the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, featured a peg system.  The colored pegs on the heel the L. A. Trainer were not just cosmetic, but instead could be adjusted to customize the shoe’s cushioning.  It comes with a nylon mesh or leather upper and was reissued in the late 1900’s.
