Created to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Tokyo flagship store, this pair of adidas Originals Superstar 80s features a black tumbled leather design, along with a matching black rubber toe, grey accents, and a white sole. We’re now getting word of a release for the kicks and a matching limited jacket. In Tokyo, the sneakers and jacket are scheduled to release on Monday, December 19th in limited numbers (100). The following day, they will be available at the adidas Originals store in Berlin and limited to 25 pairs.

adidas Originals Superstar 80s Made for Tokyo
It may have started out as a humble basketball sneaker in 1969, but nowadays adidas Originals Superstar 80s is one of the most recognised silhouettes and has had a strong impact on sneaker culture.
To commemorate 10 years of Originals in Tokyo, adidas Originals is dedicating a “Made For” pack to the city with the exciting limited run of just 150 Superstars, each individually numbered.
The Japanese fondness for black has inspired the colourway for the new Superstars with very subtle shade differences, giving it a sleek and refined aesthetic. But it’s the unexpected contrast of materials such as fur inner lining with leather and rubber upper that give it that Tokyo feel, mixing technical functionalities with discerning details.
A combination of materials is used, including leather on the upper, the inimitable rubber shell toe, fabric trims, soft suede sockliner, lining made from Clarion functional synthetic material with sweat absorbing and breathable capabilities, and an additional hang tag. Adding more functionality to the sneaker is the breathable EVA tongue top for more comfort and a superior fit. Featuring a ribbon trim on the back heel patch that loops behind an embroidered Trefoil and matching toned laces, the “Made For” TokyoSuperstar embodies Tokyo’s flair with finesse.

Tokyo is well known for its love of both high tech gadgets and daring fashion – adidas Originals has created the perfect combination of the two for the “Made For” Tokyo jacket, which celebrates the 10th anniversary since the store opened.
The hooded jacket is subdued in a flecked black technical heather coated nylon exterior with matching 3-Stripes; meanwhile, the teddy-fur lining ensures comfort and durability. A contrast patterned trim features along the zip-front, the hand-zipped pockets are concealed with a jagged edge and a seamed “X” on the back represents the 10th anniversary. Each of these details culminate in a jacket that is quirky, something that the Tokyoites are renowned for.
The cuff and waistband are ribbed and a “Made For” Tokyo logo adorns the inside of the jacket, giving it subtle stylish edge . Of course, the jacket features the Trefoil on the chest, embroidered with a contrast stitch detail, the same stitching that is used on the heel tab of the Superstars.
With only 150 of these being released, the exclusive “Made For” Tokyo jacket is the perfect companion for the “Made For” Tokyo Superstar 80s.
