A few weeks back, I had the opportunity to attend the Nike CR7 Collection x Bumpy Pitch launch in Los Angeles at the Montalban. The launch celebrated Los Angeles as well as the official launch of the line. While hipster, fashionista, athletes, and designers roamed the halls of the Montalban, a few selected members of the media were given an exclusive look at the line and the technology behind it. Additionally, we were also privy to a look at the new Nike x Bumpy Pitch line. Like the LeBron line, Cristiano Ronaldo worked with Nike to create a performance soccer boot (CR7 Mercurial Superfly III) and a casual sneaker (Street Gato) along with apparel.
CR7 Mercurial Superfly III
As with all other performance sneakers at Nike, the Mercurial Superfly III was made to Cristiano’s exact specifications. This includes adaptive stud technology and a microfiber upper created for optimum traction and allowing ultra-quick bursts and staying light on your feet throughout the game. Nike5 Street Gato
Cristiano is getting the LeBron treatment for his CR7 collection and in addition to his Mercurial Superfly III, he worked with Nike to create the Nike5 Street Gato. One part performance sneaker and one part casual sneaker, the Street Gato was made for those that keep their battles on the blacktop and keep their fashion sense at the forefront. Layered in a multi-textured upper, the Gato is outfitted with a leather upper that uses a reinforced big toe. There is also an extra durable upper rubber outsole with a pivot circle that is designed to handle the quick multi-directional changes that comes with aggressive street play. Bumpy Pitch x Nike
In addition to the CR7 Collection, Nike also unveiled a collection of t-shirts with Bumpy Pitch. The collection is based on great baskertball rivalries but presented in a soccer jersey style. Teams from Boston, Los Angeles, and New York are represented and are available now at Bumpy Pitch.
