ASICS x Hanon “Wildcats” GEL-LYTE III Release Date / Official Images

The ASICS brand is experiencing a rebirth of sorts through the classic GEL-LYTE III silhouette. Collaborations with a few choice retailers has caused quite a bit of stir on the market and introduced us to some of the freshest colorway we have seen on the sneaker. Once such collaboration is with European retailer, Hanon. For the latest work, the two created the ASICS x Hanon “Wildcats” GEL-LYTE III, a sneaker inspired by an Aberdeen-based running club called the Wildcats.

The wildcat itself is native to the Scottish Highlands, famous for being a night-time hunter, and regarded as a fearless, resourceful, patient, agile and powerful animal, these attributes link heavily to the shoes running based heritage and with its subtle mix of soft suede and 3M reflective tonal detailing, the mustard and burgundy colorway complements the panelling of the silhouette while linking to the animal that feeds its inspiration.

The shoe will be launched at the Hanon Shop on Friday, October 28 at 10 a.m. (GMT) and online from 12 noon (GMT).  The first 50 in-store customers will receive a limited-edition branded shoe bag, and each pair of shoes purchased from Hanon will come with its own specially produced dust bag. After the initial launch, the “Wildcat” will be available at 24 Kilates, Avenue, Azita, B-elles, Colette, FOTT, The Good Will Out, Naked, No Boys Allowed, Patta, Slam Jam, Solebox, Sneakersnstuff, SeventyFive, Titolo, WoodWood and Woei.
