Matt Hardigree over at Jalopnik happened to get his hands on a pair of the 2010 DeLorean Nike Dunk 6.0 before the rest of us, and was kind enough to put them through a review. As previously mentioned, the shoe uses a matte silver over the upper that is accented with black lines. Unlike traditional dunks, the DeLorean Dunk lacks stitching on the upper and is one complete piece. Down below we get a black outsole, which is complimented by the black laces and insole. Additional details include a DMC embossed on the heel, and a Belfast stamp on the tongue, and ode to the DeLorean’s original construction in Ireland.
DMC and Nike also went all out with a special box to house the shoes. The box mimics the doors of the DeLorean, and opens upward on each side. Check the video below for a complete visual.
According to Matt, here are a few things to take note of when purchasing the 2010 DeLorean Nike Dunk 6.0:
1. They are dunks, but they will not help you dunk.
2. They say Belfast on them, but they were not made in Belfast.
3. If you can run 88 mph you will not go back in time, but you’ll still be running 88 mph. Which is pretty cool.
4. There’s no secret pocket for transporting cocaine.
5. They don’t auto-lace or auto-dry
The shoe is a limited edition (1000 pairs) and will only be available at certain locations. Head on over to Jalopnik for a full list.
