Some of you may remember the introduction Michael Jordan’s sneaker as being one of Nike’s more rebellious moments by funding his on court antics. The shoes cost Michael $5000 a game to wear due to violating the uniform policy at the time.
The brand looks to capitalize on this memory by bringing us the Air Jordan 1 Banned which looks to be an exact replica of the sneaker in its original state. The BRED tumbled leather colorway may not be discernible to the naked eye but as you can see from the special packaging X marks the spot. The red graphic X is a shout out to the original campaigns X’ing of the sneakers. Rumor has it that these are simply samples and may or may not make it to production this way. We shall see.
