This shoe is the result of the mind of Bill Bowerman, who wanted to create a running shoe that would make it through a race but fall apart afterward. Weighing in at only 4.8 ounces, the Mayfly is the realization of that dream in a light and supportive sneaker with an estimated lifespan of 62 miles. Outside of the technical aspects of the shoe, many are attracted to it due to the colorway and the funky design.
