Though these were done as just an art project, and are only in the prototype stages, you have to wonder if the big brands have not already invented something like this but just have them sitting on a shelf somewhere. Somebody had to develop all the features seen on the kicks Marty McFly wore in Back to the Future II? Right? Well until that time comes, enjoy the thought of never having to tie your own laces again.
