With the AJKO dropping on Saturday some of you are probably interested but bothered by that pesky pre-yellowed sole on them. Well while checking out TSG we stumbled across this information that may be of some help to you. According to the site the yellowing effect can be removed however this is to be done at your own risk.

Apparently the yellowing effect can be simply washed off with liberal amounts of soap and water, using baby wipes or nail polish remover. Sea Glow was also mentioned but that may be slightly harder to come across. Are any of you out there planning on copping them and removing the vintage look? If so please let us know what works for you so we can keep the rest of the readers up to date. Via TSG

why not just make em fresh so you can rock em clean then once they get beat you dont worry about it cuz it gives a whole different look once they’re worn. it looks weird having the sole beat and the rest totally clean why not just rock em till theyre beat then keep rockin em after they’re beat for a new style you know?

I personally hate the yellowing. Idc what year they from, why the hell would you want a pre-yellow sole? Grow a brain nikkas.

I’ve had my pair for a few weeks and let me just say that the shoe looks like it’s straight out the 80′s. Its one of my favorite shoes and would never think to take the yellow off. The yellow makes the whole shoe come together and would honestly be kind of dull w/o it.

i ordered my pair imma see how they look to me in person then if i don’t like the yellow sole i clean it but i think imma let the yellow stay on there! i agree with you coldfeet!

This is one of those things where no ones wrong. Both sides make good points however for those who don’t like the vintage effect, nike released 1000 other Jordan 1′s within the past couple of years and NONE of them had this effect. Nike has done everything under the sun and its impossible to keep coming up with new, innovative ideas without taking a risk and pissing some people off. For those that hate this concept, there are plenty of ‘fresh’ ‘crispy’ and ‘clean’ nike airs out there for you to add to your closet. Go cop one of those and calm down. These are sold out just about everywhere…
