It is not often that you see a product fully integrated into the worlds economic markets that originated in Africa. SAWA plans to change that with their sneakers and their approach to manufacturing. The sneakers seen here were made in Africa with materials from Africa. As revealed on HypeBeast, this is more than a brand or a pair of sneakers. This is a company with the ambition to help stir an economy that has lagged behind the rest of the world by manufacturing products in-house.
With a primarily white anvas upper, the shoes are accented with tan leather and suede around the lace stays, toe box, heel, and stripped mid panel. They sit on a gum midsole, and a black or green stripe to accent the shoe. They also offer the shoe in an all black colorway with the same gum sole. The shoes will drop next month within selective shops around the word, including: Dover Street Market (London), COMME des GARCONS Tokyo, BlackBlock (Paris), Wood Wood Berlin, Copenhagen and Vienna amongst others.
