Last week, adidas used interactive ads on Youtube to help promote the launch of the TS Supernatural. This week, they are taking it even further by including a video game on a USB key contained in the packaging of the adiGames ZX 500. The video game, “ZX Runner”, looks like a game from the 80s and was created by the adidas Originals team. In the game you play the role of DJ Zed as he tries to get through a blacked-out neighborhood to get to his midnight set on time. You only have 5 minutes and will need to do whatever you can to get there; including run, jump, climb, and hide.
The adiGames ZX 500 is based on the ZX 500 and bares the same unique sole with multi-purpose rubber outsole studs that grip on soft ground, but retreat into the tread on harder surfaces. The upper is primarily black patent leather with the exception of the grey 3-Stripes. The midsole carries the flavor of the 80s-style video game with bright blue, yellow, green, and red padded layers. The final outsole is also done in black to complete the design. They are available now at at any adidas Originals store, EU and Rest of the world from Offspring, and online.
