Lakai has released some images of its 2010 Spring Limited Edition footwear and they have some pretty nice lookers in here. The series consist of two packs, the Nip Tuck Pack, a toe box less design, and the World Cup Pack, a soccer shoe styled skate shoe that comes in three colorways.
With the Nip Tuck Pack, it is clear that Lakai intended on making a trimmed down skate shoe that was still able to reflect the personality of the company. Seen here in a black colorway with dark purple accents and in a burgundy/yellow colorway, Lakai used suede materials for the uppers and let it rest on a white outsole.
Regarding the World Cup Pack, Lakai wanted to include the soccer world the Jericho, Guy, and Lucas models:
“The first choice, the Jericho, is an obvious one because of its already existing soccer aesthetic. We further accentuated that look by adding a characteristic soccer stitch pattern to the toe and then applied a colorway derived from Spain / Barcelona in honor of Jesus Fernandez. The Guy shoe embodies Guy’s heritage and carries the torch for Italy while the Lucas represents for France. All shoes are adorned with “Lakaifa” World Cup tongue labels and insole art.”
