With all the shoes that are released in Japan, I often wonder why I don’t relocate. The Nike Hyperize pictured above is an exclusive to the Nike Harajuku store in Japan. Only to be made in 1oo pieces, the shoe is the last in the 11Change project put on by the store. The project celebrates 11 individuals or athletes who have put a tremendous influence on sports in Japan.
Takehiko Inoue, who is responsible for the basketball craze in the 90′s due to his smash hit comic book and television animation series Slam Dunk, decided to use a lightweight colorway for his design. Based in white, the shoe is accented with a light blue. Inoue also illustrated several basketball characters and they appear in a light grey over the all white uppers. Inoue was also commissioned to create a t-shirt and used the same illustrations from the shoe for the design. As I previously stated, these items will only be available in a limited 100 piece supply at the Harajuku store in Japan. They officially go on sale on January 30th.
