Kobe Bryant at the House of Hoops

After a shaky start at the entrance door, thanks to the very important wrist band lady who decided to be extremely rude to the KicksOnFire team, things picked up as soon we entered the House of Hoops in Harlem.

If you couldn’t make it, don’t worry, we were at the scene to bring you complete coverage just like last year (Kobe Bryant @ Foot Locker). For the most part, H.O.H. looked like a shrine dedicated to the “Black Mamba” as huge billboards graced every wall along with his signature shoe. Live music embraced the scene as a group of about 100 waited to get a glimpse. The night was filled with Nike Zoom Kobe 5 giveaways as 24 lucky participants claimed their pairs.

Fresh off of his victory at the Garden (115-105), Kobe Bryant made a very special appearance at the House of Hoops, showcasing his latest shoe – the Nike Zoom Kobe 5. He arrived at approximately 11:00pm through the back exit of the store surrounded several security guards. The crowd went crazy as soon as Kobe walked in. Strangely enough, the person interviewing him was no other than Nick Cannon. Kobe was asked several questions about the Nike Zoom Kobe 5 and its inspiration and technical specifications. About the shoe: The Nike Zoom Kobe 5 weighs about 10.6 ounces and is currently Nike’s lightest basketball shoe ever. The Nike Zoom Kobe 5  is a true low cut design for Kobe’s snake-on-the-hardwood speed and razor sharp ability. It’s basically lightweight, sharpened.

      That’s cause his shoes got released that day and he was in New York! And to be honest, even though I’m here in LA, there’s somethin different about the NYC yo! It’s just a different vibe and I’d have to say that the NYC is a very close 2nd to LA as my favorite place man! Can’t hate on Kobe for that now right!?! Ha! I do feel you though, I think that he should still make an appearance at the House of Hoops here in LA at some point though. Maybe for when a new colorway gets debut or somethin!
