I have tied my shoes the same way for as long as I can remember. If you wanted it to stay tied, you just tied it tighter or tucked them into the sides of your shoe. Well apparantly the folks over at Runner’s World know how to tie a balanced, neat, and self-tightening knot.
They put together the video below and details the differences between a granny knot and a reef knot. I was definitely using the granny knot. Good to know that all it is going to take is changing the direction of a loop. As simple as it sounds, a well tied knot can make a huge difference for those that actually use their shoes for athletics. Am I the only one that learned something here? [Via Runner's World]
