Air Jordan XI Dissected

So you thought you knew your Jordans? A user on Kenlu has shown us how complicated, or simple depending on what you thought it was, our Air Jordan XIs really are. Using a sharp knife and a lot of elbow grease the Jordan XI sole was dissected and given for us to look at.

While these are the Cool Grey Air Jordan XIs I am sure the since behind the Space Jams are identical. It should also be noted that these sneakers were already yellowing. Click the link to see more pictures.

And I’d also like to add, until Nike finds a way to remedy the yellowing icy soles problem, I WILL NEVER BUY an Icy soled kick, EVER!

Solid white, some kind of coating, I don’t care, anything!, but that yellow shit is garbage!!

It’s like Honda selling a fancy paint color that turns rust 6 months to a year later, never happen! At least not over and over again!!

JB, learn your lesson, stop with the icy soles that look great for 10 minutes!

    OR FIX IT!!

Not everybody can rock a new pair of J’s for every single practice and game like MJ can!

    STUPID!

T-King, I agree with you 99%! I would say 100% but I admit that I have purchased clear-soled Nikes. However, I think this is the biggest rip. I too think that this yellowing process could have a solution, but Nike resists doing so because of profits.

Shoes are meant to be worn. Use ‘em or lose ‘em (e.g. to cracked and crumbling rotten midsoles). Not to mention, shoes are usually used up (e.g. tired cushioning) as far as far as their non-fashion purpose after wearing 180 straight days anyway. And they’re his to do what he pleases with.

His dissection should have been more thorough. Would have liked to seen the carbon fiber piece and other stuff isolated. But it is nice to see what a Zoom Air insert looks like.

  • lil ronell

hes gonna spray paint them blue and black and turn them in to the space jams lol

  • Danan Grace

First of all, that is not zoom air in the insole. That is just a full length nike air-sole unit. The Air Jordan 12 was the first jordan to utilize full length zoom air. If u have both the Air Jordan 11 and 12, put both pair on and you will feel the difference. Now i don’t know if the Jordan Brand decided to put full length zoom air in the new retro space jams, but i know that the originals did not have zoom air because i did not buy them; I copped a super sick color of my own version of the ZK5 at nike id.

And for those of u who don’t believe me, pull out a zoom air unit from an older kick of yours that has zoom air and holla at cha boy!
