The retro game is a slippery slope. Even if a shoe drops in the same color way those of us who were around for their introduction can still scrutinize the materials used, and minor changes in the model. And then of course there are buyers who simply don’t care. No matter what side of the fence you fall on you have to admit that sensitivity to these facts is what separates a cop from not even giving a shoe a second glance.
The Nike Challenger is one of those releases that really tries to encapsulate the era in which they were made. The vintage feel is accomplished by its use of nylon, wide mesh and rough suede. Minor details like the laces and choice of materials for the swoosh also really bring home this period piece feel. But the real question lies in how do we feel about this release? If you like they are available now at Titolo.
