The only thing more exciting about news of an upcoming Air Jordan model is one that we will probably never see. Originally scheduled for a spring 2009 release, but then scrapped, the sneakers feature a Chicago Bulls colorway with an embroidered “eye” made to look like a fighter plane. The small eye is important because Tinker Hatfield took inspiration from the P51 Mustang Fighter Plane for the Jordan V design. Hopefully one day we will be able to get our hands on these, but it is highly unlikely as the Jordan Brand is unbelievably stubborn and this was just a look see sample. Via: KATC

I’m glad that they give the nod to the original design elements Hatfield put into the shoe. This is one of the cooler samples I’ve seen in recent years. Subtle but very nice if you get it.
