Sneaker Rant: Air Jordan 3 True Blue – Not Available in the US!

Where do I start? Who ever said patience is a virtue was wrong when it comes to Jordan collectors. From my last article written earlier this year: Sneaker Rant: Air Jordans – Rest In Peace (R.I.P) ?, it is quite evident that most Air Jordan collectors are “Waiting for Retros ONLY…” (84%, 1,696 Votes).

A few months back, we receive the greatest news we’ve heard this year: the unveiling of the Air Jordan 3 True Blue comeback! Initially, everyone knew they were an international release but we all had our fingers crossed and were almost certain that they would make their way into the states. Unfortunately, that is NOT happening. What is going on with Air Jordan Brand? Last time I checked, this is where it all started… Michael Jordan, the Championships, the history, the legacy… Why are we the ones that are left out?

We are left to the mercy of our international connects who probably won’t even come through! Ebay prices are extremely inflated already ($300+)… Am I the only one that is just a LITTLE bit ticked off about this? I mean don’t get me wrong, I am beyond ecstatic about the Space Jams and the Flu Game 12′s (although not happy about the Nubuck).

The Tinker Hatfield designed Air Jordan 3′s are monumental to the Air Jordan history and are probably the most sought after Jordan’s after the Air Jordan 11′s. It’s very saddening that most of us are going to miss out on one of the greatest releases from the Air Jordan camp this year. By the way, we are giving out a free pair! PS: (You guys might agree with me here.) Next time some genius at Jordan Brand wants to make something an International release that won’t be available in the states, please make it an Air Jordan Fusion! Prehaps these: Air Jordan 13 (XIII) Fusion – White / Black – Varsity Red

    I can not agree with your first and last statement any more than I already am. What you have written is so damn TRUE (no pun intended). Your first sentence, “Who ever said patience is a virtue was wrong when it comes to Jordan collectors”, is beyond true. I just pre ordered my Space Jams about an hour ago from writing this, so I definitely have no patience. I am going to get another pair when they officially release, too. Your last sentence “Next time some genius at Jordan Brand wants to make something an International release that won’t be available in the states, please make it an Air Jordan Fusion! Perhaps these: Air Jordan 13 (XIII) Fusion – White / Black – Varsity Red”, is also true. Those Fusion 13s are so damn hideous. They disgrace the beauty of the 13s. The Fusions aren’t that popular anyway and some are down right ugly. Jordan Brand must have been on some kind of drug to make a decision like this. Even though I already received my True Blue 3s in the mail last week, my heart goes out to everyone who might miss their chance to cop them. Everyone should own a pair and everyone wants to but everyone can’t when horrible decisions like this are made. (By the way if you finish reading this long ass comment, log onto SNEAKERHOTLINE.COM. That is where I purchased my True Blue 3s from and they just restocked on them yesterday. They have sizes 8-12 posted for $250 with a shipping fee. But if you are hungry like I was to get these, then you would go ahead and cop them too). Thanks for hearing me out. Keep speaking the truth.

    shoot alot of fusion hate going on. yea i like jordan retros but i also love fusions and air forces. so they’re a good combination for me. many ppl forget the fusions are more of an air force not a jordan

    why do the asians and europeans ALWAYS get the good shoes?
    but im not bothered, these will probably turn out like the spizikes and make it over here a year later for retail price.
    the only sad part is by then all the europeans and asians will be laughing at us, rocking their true blue 3′s…..
    and the ajf13′s arent that ugly. just a hideous toebox and overexgaerated panther print.

    Hi everybody
    I’m really sorry that this mythical jordan not do so in the United States.
    Here in France, the purchase price is $ 187. So I think it will be hard to have a better price than ebay, because I think it takes $ 50 for shipping and more.

  • Not Sold Out?

    I was hella pissed off about this release until I found out that it would coincide with my trip to Europe. The funny thing is all the blog sites posted Aug 8th as the release date so it was to my surprise that I walked into Footlocker a week early and saw them sitting on the wall in all their glory. I couldn’t believe it just my luck they had just got their shipment that day. The point of my story is not to rub everyone’s face in it but I went back yesterday and they still have not sold out. If it were released in the states it would have sold out within the first 30 min of opening. What was the point of a international release only if international sneaker heads are not as juiced about the drop as we are in the states. I think Jordan Brand made a huge mistake here and better have something nice lined up for the end of the year like making the space jams 100$.

    This shit is fucked. Really though, I think it’s safe to say that the largest concentration of Jordan collectors and even just casual interest in jordans has to be in the US! It’s ridiculous to think of these shoes sitting on a shelf in some fucking French footlocker collecting dust while us Americans, natives of Michael jordans country of origin, have to suffer a 300$ price tag from our freedom hating Canadian neighbors to the north! What a bunch of shit. And by the way, I’m on those fusion XIII’s man I don’t get the hate I love fusions and retros good shoes are just good shoes.

    it’s really not a good look that the U.S. is not getting these… JB has made a lot of money off us and we still ask and pay top dollar for the sneakers..retros, retros, retros is what we ask for and what the fuck do they do???? send the shoes over seas….WHAT KIND OF SHIT IS THAT!
