If you really want to get down to it the first sneaker collaborations were probably with sneaker companies and popular cartoon characters. I think the toddler inside may need to call us out for swagger jacking ala Dipset. Enough with the pseudo-history lesson and on to the shoes, New Balance has joined forces with Sesame Street to produce sneakers featuring the Cookie Monster, Oscar The Grouch, and Elmo.
