News about the re-release of the Nike Air Griffey Max 1 - Fresh Water first surfaced back in September, and since then, they’ve been on everyone’s wish list. Noted for their fresh water accents just like the Nike Air Max 95, they have been highly anticipated as fans can’t wait to get their hands on pair.
They originally debuted back in 1996 as The Kid was making a name for himself on the Seattle Mariners. With Ken Griffey Jr. returning to Seattle this season to most likely finish up his career, the timing of their re-release seems to be perfect. They sport a black and white colorway along with fresh water accents on the heel tab and air sole unit. They are officially slated to hit Footaction locations on April 1, 2009.

I passed back then and I wasn’t going to get these now but they are straight up fire in person. They don’t look and feel as clunky as they did back then. May have to reconsider only because I have the Mariners fitted with the fresh water accents in it. Nike is doing right with these retros.
I’m not a fan of these shoes. Undulating lines in general aren’t my thing, but these have the funky bubble sole that I’m not feeling either.

I like the color on these but they seem a little too bulky for me. The design is amazing though and you can’t deny the retro look on them. They’re fresh but im still not completely sold on them.

These look fresh to me. Not as good as the red and black ones but way better than the all over black ones. Yea the sole is big but it can make you look taller haha. Good shoe!!!!
