To buy or not to buy? That is the question. With the release of the highly anticipated Nike Air 1/2 Half Cent Penny – Varsity Royal on March 7th, 2009, many collectors are faced with a tough choice. Should we pass on the symbolic Varsity Royal Blue color-way and hold out till the release of the black on black color-way ? Or buy both?

It’s only been a month since the highly anticipated Eggplant Foamposite caused massive lines at retailers nationwide. An now we have something new from the Nike camp. The Nike 1/2 Cent Hybrid has been causing a lot of hysteria and is probably one of the best looking hybrid that we have seen from Nike thus far. The instant classic combines features from previously released Air Penny’s and the beloved Air Foamposite model. The 1/2 Cent name takes its inspiration from Lil Penny’s jersey number. Paying a little tribute to the little man, the shoe features his silhouette on the heel and a 3D hologram on the sole.

The Nike Air 1/2 Half Cent Penny – Varsity Royal were recently released unannounced at House of Hoops and caused huge lines and sold out with hours. A few pairs have been spotted on eBay for as much as $350! Check out detailed pictures and 3D video below!
