Kobe Bryant - Nike Zoom Kobe 4 (IV) Rice Edition (Exclusives) @ Foot Locker

In case you guys didn’t know, Kobe Bryant was in town for the past few days as his Lakers were set to take on the New York Knicks, and boy did he put on a show for the fans at MSG. Kobe dropped 61 points, the highest single point total for any player ever at Madison Square Garden, breaking Michael Jordan’s double nickel (55) recorded for opponents and Bernard King’s 60 point home game.

But before any of that occurred, Kobe showed up at the Footlocker on 34th street in downtown Manhattan on Sunday for several reasons. A new colorway in the Nike Zoom Kobe 4 (IV) had released, but also, he came to show some love to the basketball team from Rice High School, which he happens to sponsor and provides athletic wear to.

We were on hand to bring coverage of the event to you guys, and watched in awe as Kobe arrived at approximately 4:30 PM. Sporting an all grey Nike sweat suit, Kobe was introduced and the crowd went crazy. He was interviewed by a Nike employee, who asked him several questions including the inspiration behind the Nike Zoom Kobe 4 (IV) as well as the technical specifications behind the shoe.

Finally, Kobe had some inspirational words for his extended family, as he preached to the kids from Rice High School about working hard on the basketball court, and taking no prisoners and having no mercy as they are set to participate in an upcoming tournament. Then he pulled out a new, exclusive colorway in the Nike Zoom Kobe 4 (IV) – Rice created specially for the team. They feature a predominantly green and yellow color combination along with the number 24 at the heel area. No word as to whether they will ever release to the public so for now we’re labeling them as Team Exclusives.

Check out the detailed pictures of the event, as well as the HD video we have posted. Please leave some comments and let us know what you guys think.
