Here we feature some detailed pictures of the Nike Dunk SB Mid – Beijing. They were designed by artist Triumvir and drew their inspiration from the view of the city of Beijing from a native’s perspective. The Nike SB Dunk Mid – Beijing sports a very interesting and symbolic design featuring many aspects of Beijing’s culture such as; noodles, traffic, dust, highways and the famous Tienanmen Square. Constructed from a combination of smooth and tumbled leather, they sport a black, white, and grey construction along with yellow contrast stitching on the Nike swoosh. Look for them now at select Nike SB accounts. Also, check out the HD video that allows you to get a 360 degree view.

    Slide to Beijing
Feb 27th,2009, Nike with FLY and Triumvir launched a new pair of professional skateboard shoe in Beijing named Nike Dunk SB Mid Beijing. After Pairs, Tokyo, London, Shanghai and New York, Nike launched another Dunk SB skateboard shoes of city theme.

The theme of Nike Dunk SB Mid Beijing is slide to Tiananmen square and the design inspiration is from daily life details of Beijing people. The design team integrate Beijing in their eyes and Beijing skateboarding people’s love to the sport into the shoe’s design to express their respect to skateboarding.

The skateboarding pioneer in China, who is also the founder of FLY, said they specially choosed the Dunk Mid style which has good protectiveness and flexibility by the requirement of skateboarding. He also said himself really like Beijing skateboarding culture and want to pay his respect to Beijing skateboarding people by the shoes. The creative design leader of Nike James Arizumi added that FLY is a partner of Nike for many years and conincides with the tenth anniversary of FLY this time. Nike is proud to work with China’s first and largest skateboarding shop to build the pair of Nike Dunk SB Mid Beijing and make their efforts to promote China’s skateboarding development. The ethnic Chinese Brandon Cheng, leader of Triumvia, whose hometown is Beijing, said Beijing was his hometown and had a very deep impression on Beijing’s Tiananmen Square when he was a child. He’s very pleased to take a part in this co-operation.

The design of the shoes show originality and its special design elements including:

    1. Use the Dunk Mid style which has protectivity and flexibility. Add the horizontal Velcro at the ankle so that the the whole shoe is more personal and more suitable for professional skateboarding.
    2. Dunk SB has unique Zoom air cushion soles which can provide a better slow vibration. The outsole is with wear-resistant material. The classic thick tongue and a fixed support section also play an important role in protectiveness.
    3. The slogan of “slide to Beijing Tiananmen Square”, which is also the theme to respect Beijing skateboarder, is embroidered on the medial ankle in official script seal form.
    4. The upper pattern is from Beijing’s central link. The interwoven pattern is not only like the noodles with soybean paste which Beijing people like so much, but also a symbol of the big complex metropolis.
    5. The design inspiration of the white toe cap and slim shoelace is from the masks which Beijing people always wear in winter.
    6. The insole pattern is design by composing the FLY’s logo and Triumvior “?” logo.
