Melissa7 only started collecting 8 months ago, but her shoe game is crazier than most people I know. At 17, she has over 60 pairs of sneakers, a ton of heat, and a serious passion for sneakers. It all started when she bought her first pair of Jordans, and fell in love. Soon there after, she attended her first Dunk Exchange, and found out the definition of the term “sneakerhead.”
People were selling shoes, trading, showing off their collections and people winning prizes just for having a rare shoe. I loved it. I bought my first pair of SB’s, the Sharks, while I was there. I found myself camping out in front of stores for the newest releases. My friends and I would spend days in line waiting for a pair.
While she loves the shoe game, she is often irritated by the commentary that she has a lot of kicks, ‘for a girl.’ She wants to be known and equally respected in the kick game, and hopes to contribute to making that happen.
