Our new Sneaker Rant column starts with a very hot topic at hand. The Air Jordan 11 (XI) / Air Jordan 12 (XII) Countdown Package is set to hit stores nationwide on December 20, 2008 (updated). Although they are expected to sell out immediately upon their release even with the economy crisis going on, the editors and members at KicksOnFire are a bit furious at the Jordan Brand. We appreciate the Air Jordan 11 / 12 Package and agree that it is surely the best package of the year but we all have one concern that has been in the back of our minds. Even though, we are all sure that we are definitely going to purchase the package. Why not switch the Air Jordan 11 - Bred color-way with the Air Jordan 11 - Concord?
As the last Air Jordan Countdown Package and obviously the most cheered and significant one, why not release the Air Jordan 11 - Concord? We are in no way against the Air Jordan 11 - Bred color-way but we do realize that sneaker blogs around the net have been filled with reader comments who are asking for the Concord color-way but will settle for the Breds. The Air Jordan 11 / 12 Countdown Package is already a classic package even prior to its release but would it have made an even stronger impact in the sneaker community if the Concords were included? You decide…

Concords are in the lead
Like I expected!
Basically because of choice of colorways for the DMP. The XI’s were pretty much Concords of course with a touch of gold instead of Concord. Come on now did you really think they would drop them again so soon? Sure pretty much everyone would prefer the Concords to the BRed’s but you had to have seen this coming. The Question is why TAXI’s?
well since people are concerned about the 11 concord, why not bring the 12 in bred. or do you think that would be to much of clashing bred?? or what ever. i personaly would like the bred 11/12 package.

I’m just happy that they’re coming out again, damn it. Some of the second half of these CDPs have been kinda suspect…not worth the money.
i like both colorways but i everybody forget about tha space jam’s that are sicker than both of these???? i say fuck it just release tha space jams
The Space Jam’s should have been the ones in this package, hands down!
I like the breds more, first off the clear sole wont turn yellow, second off i think its in general a iller colorway. id also rather have the space jams rather than the concords. as far as the 12s go i like the breds also- or even the wizzards colorway, but im happy with the taxis as i remembeer when they originally released

Didn’t they just drop the concord 6 Rings? If there is anything Jordan fans need to “cry” about…it’s when are they going to re-release the Infrared 6’s? Nike.com/jumpman23 has a picture of the Infrard 6’s with the jumpman logo on them……originals had nike and the swoosh on them. (there coming)

I believe they dropped the breds here because if they were to release the concords it would totally pull the collectors value from the defining momments package. the breds make the most since in that case, but i honestly could pass on those taxis. never felt them that much. JB is a fluke as of late in my opinion but its evident that they can keep re-retroing sneakers 3-5 times and peeps will still pay 150 + for some J’s because theres way more people who dont have OG’s then ones who do. Its sorta like giving the new generation whom didnt get to collect in the Jordan erra when he was activly playin ball a shot at getting some of his most touted kicks. at the end of the day its fair game . if you like you buy , if not you pass. all the inbetween stuff is always gonna be a float. man i miss the 6’s

y’all are also forgetting that each pack has had a black/red/white colorway.. Chicago Bulls, remember? the pack wouldn’t even look right if they had concord 11s and black/white 12s..

To tell the truth im happy there coming out too. But the spacejams and the bred 12s wouldnt have hurt.
i like da true red and white over the concords because that cleaer bottom will turn brown and i hate that for kicks. that why im real skeptical on buyin the cool grey spizikes as well..but idk…its w.e.

I’m strictly old school when it comes to AJ’s! If it’s not part of the orginal color scheme when it was released, then don’t bother showing it to me.
Do you guys remember the Concords when they were first released? I about sh*t my pants! It was the most indescribable moment I’ve ever had when encountering a pair of kicks. I was literally at a loss for words. They were so kick ass that all I can mutter out of my mouth was they’re so “friggin sweet”. And you all know that “friggin sweet” just don’t do these shoes justice! They were so hard, that the NBA wasn’t even ready for them and fined Michael Jordan for every single time he wore them in a game!
No one’s seen shoes like these before. The black patent leather blew everyone’s minds. AJ’s have always been the standard of shoe design back in the day. Whether you loved or hated the outcome, you had to respect their willingness to set the trend. The Concords have always been the quintessential sneaker designs to me. The Concord is simple yet elegant, it’s got that perfect blend of a well thought out design without it seeming like too much thought went into it…it just felt right!
Now that I’ve said my piece of how I felt about the Concords, I think y’all know what I vote is…LOL! I do have to agree with J Bizzile and Junior 1323, I think that the Space Jams XI kick ass as well; more so than the BReds. The BReds color contrast is a little too strong while the Space Jams is nice and subtle. I personally would like to see the release of the Concords and the Space Jams!
I got the package n the bred 11s go hard with the taxi 12s however I think the bred 11s are jus fine hella fresh I can rock some skinny jeans with them n the jean die won’t got off on the black carbon fiber fabric so its alll good but when I rock my 12s taxi I gotta wear cargo shorts with that piece ya diggg?
The concords were released in the DMP pack so it was good that they came witha different colorway
da reason dat dey picked da Breds 2 bbe on da package instead is cus da concords n da taxis r both black n white so dey wuld of been almost da same shoe basically so i think dat dey wanted 2 put da Breds cus dey a diff color but da concords wuld of been better n dey shulda put sum other 12s but 4get it i alredy got da pack so i knt change dat

I think the Breds worked out good. I like the black and white 12s that came in the pack. The black and red 12s dont look as good as the black and white colorway in my opinion.
listen the bred 11 are the best one’s i mean everyone and there mama wanted those shits when they dropped all three times (1996,2001,2008cdp) i mean the concords are blown out of proportion
