Melo’s jersey number breaks down to seven, symbolizing ‘toughness’, plus eight, which sounds like ‘fortune’ in Chinese. The artwork on the back of the shoe is inspired by Melo’s unique personality and his admiration of dogs. The styling is inspired by Italian craftsmanship and the Jordan Olympia – Melo features distinctive toe stitching and an Air Jordan 10 – like sole which commemorates the years Team Jordan athletes have played in the Games.
