The pair featured here are just samples as of right now, and feature a suede / nubuck construction along with a breathable mesh on the toe box and inner lining.     I think these would look just fine without the pattern on the ankle. I never thought the 90s would look so good with a black and pink colorway, but they did a nice job here.
