This New Balance 1400 was inspired by the philosophy of William J. Riley, who in 1906, after watching a chicken peck around his yard, set out to create the most advanced arch support system the World had ever seen. Chickens do have great balance when you think about it, and from this, the New Balance Arch Support Company was born.
