Finally we have pics of the 2007 “Doernbecher Freestyle” Air Jordan 2. I didn’t want to believe the info when I first heard, but it’s true. Over the years Nike has allowed the foundation to design several shoes, but this is the first appearence for any sneaker from the Air Jordan line. Usually Nike gives a special child the opportunity to design the sneaker, that’s what makes them so unique. A couple years back Nike let Laurie Miller (10 years old) design the FC aka “Fish FC”, a very popular item for the female sneaker lovers. Now we see the Air Jordan 2 will join the Doernbecher Freestyle family. In Portland on September 22nd Weiden + Kennedy will reveal the complete Doernbecher line up. No info is available on how much these will retail for, but the price is always very affordable.
Before you talk down on the them, keep in mind these were designed by a ill child. It’s the effort that counts, and this is an awesome privilege for anyone to design the Air Jordan 2, but even better for a child. Not pictured, but sources tell us the boys favorite Bible scripture (in Proverbs) is featured on the tongue. Also, it’s being said these will only be available in Oregon, and extremely limited. All the proceeds from the shoes will go to the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital Foundation. Pic: NiceKicks
